Clifford Chance advised EAIF on its loan to Axian Energy to expand its renewable energy capacity across Africa
Clifford Chance has advised Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF), a Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG) company, on its US$ 30 million senior secured loan facility to Axian Energy.
This loan is part of Axian Energy’s plan to expand and to deliver more than 460 Megawatts of utility-scale renewable energy generation capacity across Africa over the next decade.
This financing demonstrates Clifford Chance's commitment to working alongside its clients on financings which will be used on developing bankable renewable projects throughout Africa.
The Clifford Chance team was led by Corinne Duvnjak (Counsel and co-head of the firm's Francophone Africa group) with the assistance of Thomas Chneiweiss (senior associate) and Gaspard Nouind.

Clifford Chance a conseillé Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF), une société du Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), dans le cadre d'un financement innovant de 30 millions de dollars octroyé à Axian Energy.
Ce prêt a pour objectif de soutenir le plan d’expansion d’Axian Energy. Ce plan vise notamment à développer plus de 460 mégawatts d’énergie renouvelable greenfield en Afrique dans les dix prochaines années, ainsi que le développement de solutions de stockage d'énergie par batterie et mini-réseaux.
Ce financement démontre l'engagement de Clifford Chance à travailler aux côtés de ses clients sur des financements innovants utilisés pour développer des projets d'énergies renouvelables bancables en Afrique.
