Queer Pioneer Stephanie Crawford and Her Creative Community

Virtual Pride Art Gallery 2022 – Americas

This selection of artwork and ephemera celebrates pioneering transgender visual artist and celebrated jazz vocalist Stephanie Crawford and her LGBTQ+ community.

Crawford's own artwork—a self-portrait, documentation of a now lost portrait of her friend Frederick Weston, and watercolor paintings—are displayed alongside artwork and documentation by her peers.
